As the following Monday was cool I decided to do as much of London as I could. When I arrived I went up the 'Fire Memorial' and up the 311 steps - they are so narrow that when you pass anyone you have to stop.

Once I had got down I made my way through the fish market to the 'Tower of London'

(I don't know if this digging - picture on the right - was archaeological or just maintenance.)
I went round the Tower during dinner time, chewing 'chewing gum' to stop myself from feeling hungry, because the queues were shorter then. I saw the crown jewels and everything else there was to see.
Then I went up the tower hill and listened for half an hour to an African who wanted the white men out of Africa. He said that his father had twenty wives. Someone who was arguing with him muttered "He must have been strong, we can hardly keep one". He himself had been 'educated' by a Missionary and he was comparing the way things were taught in Moscow - he had been to Moscow - and in London.
